On Monday 11th April, Box Hill Senior Secondary College was host to a Coaching Clinic conducted by Basketball Victoria. These clinics are run regularly throughout the year and aim to provide something new for every level of coach, from primary school and domestic coaches through to national level senior and junior coaches.
Former Australian coach, Brian Goorjian, who has been a regular visitor to the College over many years, was the coaching presenter at this clinic and he had over 130 coaches spell bound as he talked for over two hours about transition offence.
Students from our Intermediate Boys basketball team developed new skills as they worked with Brian in demonstrating the offensive plays that he was teaching.
Brian was full of praise for the team, which contains four Under 18 Victorian representative squad members, and he predicted a bright future for them.
The clinic provided a wonderful opportunity to watch an experienced coach in action and it provided an excellent learning experience for everyone involved.
