BHSSC Anzac Day Service 2016
On Thursday 28 April, the College held an ANZAC ceremony to commemorate those soldiers who have served in our armed forces across a number of wars.
This service is an important way for the Year 10 students and other members of the College community to come together and reflect on and remember the sacrifices of those who have seen military service.
Our guest speaker for the third year in a row, was Mr John McKernan from the North Balwyn RSL. John served overseas in the Navy during World War II and his talks really help the students understand the hardship suffered both at home and abroad during a period of war.
Our Year 12 Student leaders spoke about the significance of ANZAC Day and remembering those who have served for our country. A wreath was laid, prior to the playing of the Last Post and the recitation of the "Ode"
On ANZAC Day , the College continued it's traditiion of supporting the Box Hill RSL march and service and was represented by our Year 12 Student Leaders.
